Christians can help

This web page offers an answer to the following question in the “Rethinking our Approach” link.

Do you understand why most Christians believe that the vast majority of individuals who develop “transgender imbalance” can be helped by mental health professionals?

Devout Christians believe that God knows a person while they are in the womb and that God is a God of love. If you believe that God doesn’t make mistakes and is a God of love, then the logical assumption to make is that God doesn’t put individuals in the incorrect body. Unless there is a reason God would do this, Christians must believe God would rarely, if ever, put a person in the wrong body. So the belief that God doesn’t put individuals in the wrong body is reason number one that Christians believe most individuals who develop transgender imbalance can be helped by mental health professionals.

Reason number two is that few if any, devout Christians develop transgender imbalance. If few Christians develop transgender imbalance, this is a solid reason to suspect there is a mental health component associated with developing this terrible condition.

A possible way to help individuals who won’t trust in God is to encourage them to adopt a beneficial belief that some custom moral codes teach. Some custom moral codes teach we all live in a universe of love. This belief would be the “custom moral code” version of the Christian belief that a God of love can be trusted always to put a person in the correct body. Instead of being trust in a God of love, it would be trust in a universe of love that doesn’t let biological humans come out of the womb in the wrong body.

  1. I agree. As a Christian I believe there might be some reason God might cause a few individuals to be born in the wrong body but I believe most of these individuals are victims of a world that has lost its way. Except for some Methodist clergy, I don’t know any church going Christians that have developed transgender imbalance. A God that loves you doesn’t put you in the wrong body.

  2. From the standpoint of this question helping individuals that have developed “Transgender Imbalance” I’m not sure if it will help or not. However it would be a useful question to explain why all Christians should believe that few, if any, individuals come out of the womb predestined to develop “Transgender Imbalance.” As a Christian it does make sense to me that our God of love wouldn’t put someone in the wrong body. Satan might try to convince individuals that they came out of the womb in the wrong body but I don’t believe God would intentionally do that to anyone. According to chaos theory a “Big Bang” followed by evolution will eventually result in chaos so I can see how Progressives could buy into this whole transgender thing. They could believe that chaos has evolved far enough that humans now come out of the womb in the wrong body (would this apply to other animals as well?). However in my opinion this is a good question to ask since at least it will help others to understand where Christians are coming from. Well at least this Christian anyway.
